This course contains an introduction of the Biobased Economy on EQF level 4/5.  

The course contains five major learning units:

  1. Introduction to the Biobased Economy
  2. Biomass production
  3. Conversion processes and products
  4. Experimenting with Biobased products
  5. Logistics
  6. Socio-Eonomic skills

Every unit starts with a inspiring orientation and a description of the learning outcomes. It contains the basic knowledge needed of that unit. This knowledge  is illustrated with concrete examples and good practises. Every unit ends with a short exam and a assignment.

Every learning unit can be studied without the pre-knowledge of the other units.

Das Ziel des Landwirtschaftsmanagement Kurses ist es, Landwirte mit wirtschaftlich relevanten Daten und Finanzanalyse vertraut zu machen.

Farming Management Kurs besteht aus drei Themen: Economic Farm Analysis, Lösungen zur Verbesserung der operativen Effizienz der Landwirtschaft und ihrer Begründung, Farm Activity Risk und seine Management.

Nach einem erfolgreichen Abschluss des Kurses sollten die Lernenden in der Lage sein:

  • Um persönliche Geschäftsentwicklungsmöglichkeiten zu bewerten,
  • Um die aktuelle landwirtschaftliche Situation im landwirtschaftlichen und ländlichen Geschäftsumfeld zu bewerten,
  • Die Kosten der Produktion zu analysieren,
  • Eine ökonomische Bewertung der geplanten Aktivitäten durchzuführen,
  • Um Investitionsoptionen und Finanzierungsquellen auszuwählen,
  • Die Projektfähigkeit zu bewerten, die Geschäftsrisiken und die potenziellen Ergebnisse zu bewerten.

Agricultural Markets is a course related to the agricultural sectors of Common Market organisation of the European Union.

It contains the major elements regulating the agricultural economic sectors, with the basic knowledge and information for each sector and the essential web resources and publications for a farmer in order to follow the evolution and the economic developments of his/her activities.

Through this course SKIFF intents to gather valuable resources and make them available to all farmers wishing to improve their market understanding.

The experience has shown that this is a valuable tool for the survival of the holding especially in this difficult economic period.

The aim of this SKIFF course is not to prepare experts in commodities but to describe and outline how markets function within the European frame.

The course is promarly addressed to farmers.

This course describes the use of of Unmanned Air Systems (UAS) in agricultural Activities. It was added as part of the course ICT in Agriculture, considering that the most advanced but still not developed in Europe technology is the use of what most people call drones.

There are two main chapters, one referring to the definition of precision agriulture and the second to the description of the equipment and the uses.

The course is addressed to producers organisations as this service is not effective to small scall farms. The scope is to inform them about the potential benefits derived from this technology.

The application of ICT in Agriculture, as a key to rural development and small scale farming constitutes a recent active field, in the heart of EU policies and initiatives (refer for example to http://ict-agri.eu/).

4 important topics are proposed for the learners:  

I. Cloud computing,

II. Smart Crop farm,

III. Smart Livestock farm,

IV. Communications.

All topics should be learned step by step. Before this learning course learners will find some pre-information about ICT in these parts: Introduction, Target Groups, Pre-knowledge, Learning Outcomes, Learning Units.

Dieser Kurs enthält die grundlegenden Anforderungen für den zukünftigen Landwirt, der als Bio-Landwirt nach dem EU-biologische Landbau gesetzliche Anforderungen für den biologische Landbau zertifiziert werden soll.

Es ist so strukturiert, dass die Anforderungen für die beteiligten Gruppen Landwirte und Kontrollstellen Experten zu erfüllen.

Der Kurs enthält folgende Lerneinheiten:

  • Einführung in den biologische Landbau
  • Gesetzliche Anforderungen nach EU-Rechtsrahmen
  • Übergangs- / Umwandlungsform für den biologische Landbau
  • Anforderungen pro Kategorie z.B. Primärproduktion, verarbeitete Produkte et.
  • Handel und Importe aus Drittländern
  • Wie wird man Bio-Bauer, was die Kosten sein könnte und was ist die Bedeutung von Bio-Logo
  • Praktische Informationen durch den SKIFF Bio Buchteil


In den meisten Abschnitten gibt es ein kurzes Quiz, als Mittel, um mögliche Schwierigkeiten des Schülers zu identifizieren, um die Anforderungen des EU-ökologischen Landwirtschaftssystems zu verstehen. Denn alle EU-biologische Landwirtschaftssysteme basieren auf Gesetzen, die manchmal auch von einem gebildeten Landwirt oder Fachmann schwer zu verstehen sind.

This course contains the essential but simplified information about the funding opportunities by the Greek Rural Development Programme 2014-2020 for the farmer, the producer group or organisation, the rural entrepreneur, the rural Municipality, the Local Action Group, the person, advisor, researcher, business engaged in the agricultural, food and forestry sector, the land manager, the forest holder  and other economic actors operating in rural areas

It is structured in such a way, so as to fulfill the requirements for all different potential beneficiaries of the Greek RDP, explaining the existing funding opportunities in a concrete and simplified manner.

  • Rural Development Programme for Greece 2014-2020 (only in el)

Each Measure contains information on its scope, the intervention area, the type of support (i.e. Start-up aid, grants, annual or one-off payments etc), the beneficiaries, the eligible expenditure, the eligibility conditions / Selection criteria, the aid intensity/amount of support.
